How Much Does Cyber Liability Insurance Cost?
The short answer
There is no one price. It depends on your business and its risks. The coverage you choose also matters. Your security can affect the price. Get a quote for your own business. A price for someone else may not fit.

What can affect the price?
Insurers may look at your business size, work, information, past claims, and security practices. The amount of coverage and your share of a loss also matter.
Ask how each quote treats your use of outside providers and online systems. Give accurate answers. Do not guess about security settings to make the price look better.
Compare the help, not just the price
Picture two policies. One costs less. It may also have a lower limit for the loss you care about most. The yearly bill alone does not tell you which fits.
| Compare this | Ask this question |
|---|---|
| Main limit | What is the most the policy pays? |
| Smaller limits | Which losses have a lower cap? |
| Your share | How much do we bear after a covered loss? |
| Shutdown coverage | Which outages count, and is there a waiting period? |
| Fraud | Which payment scams are included? |
| Response help | Who can we call, and who must approve the work? |
Can better security help?
It may affect eligibility, terms, or price. It does not guarantee a discount or approval. Keep evidence of the practices you report.
What should I budget besides the premium?
The premium is what you pay for the insurance. Also plan for your share of a covered loss, costs outside coverage, and work needed to run your security program.
Can Infosec Check give me a price from this page?
This page gives education, not a quote or an offer to bind coverage. Infosec Check helps leaders prepare better questions about business risk, policy terms, and the facts behind an application.
Use the questions to ask before buying, review insurance consulting, or return to the coverage hub.
Scope
This guide gives general information. It does not decide a claim or change a policy. Coverage depends on the policy, its added forms, the facts, and the law. Ask a licensed insurance professional about your coverage and a lawyer about legal questions.
